Chateau de Peyrepertuse

One of the 'five sons of Carcassonne', a series of castles which defended the Franco-Spanish border, Peyrepertuse was a Cathar stronghold during the Albigensian Crusade. It stands on a rocky crag above the village of Duilhac at an altitude of 730 metres.
