Our Normandy gîte, which was previously a barn, has been recently renovated to provide a spacious and contemporary holiday home. The original barn doors have been replaced with a wall of glass allowing light to flood into the generous entrance hall. To one side of the entrance hall, you will find the lounge with a door leading out onto the patio area and garden. Comfy sofas, English and French TV and a well stocked bookcase await. There are two radiators and a woodburning stove. On the other side of the hall is the kitchen and dining area. The kitchen is well equipped and the dining table easily seats 6. A downstairs cloakroom and utilty room complete the downstairs.

Upstairs are three bedrooms and two shower rooms. The master beroom has a king sized bed. The remaining two bedrooms can be twin rooms or super king sized rooms.

The gite is equidistant from Granville, Coutances and Villedieu-les-Pôeles in La Manche region of Normandy. There is plenty to do in the area and I regularly blog about things to see and do in the area. Normandy is full of history - the D-Day landing beaches and Bayeux particularly - are of great interest. The many churches, abbeys, chateaux in the area are delightful. The ruined abbey at Hambye at the Chateau at Gratot are nearby. The magnificent Mont St Michel is only 45 minutes away, and, as an UNESCO world heritage site, this should be on your must-see list.

Cycling, walking and horseriding routes will allow you to explore the area. The beautiful coastline stretching from Mont St Michel to beyond Le Havre ensure you have endless beaches to chose from. You can access watersports, golf and adventure parks for a more active holiday. If you prefer a more relaxed pace, then long lesiurely lunches or suppers abound with choices to suit all budgets. For the gourmets, there are are number of food and drink producers in the area where tastings and tours can be organised.

For those of you who love cycling, Normandy will host the Tour de Normandie in March 2016 and 3 stages of the Tour de France 2016. A week long of activities starts on 29 June for the TDF with Le Grand Départ leaving from Mont St Michel on 2 July. The 3 stages of the TDF will take place in La Manche region and therefore the gite is perfectly placed to enjoy this exciting event.
