La Garipiere is a typical Perigordian barn lovingly converted, using traditional materials and techniques, into a fully equipped, spacious self catering holiday home. Situated on the top of a hill on the outskirts of a small village – Carves – near Belvès and Sarlat, it is surrounded by fields and woods and has stunning views over the surrounding valleys.

With its five large bedrooms and four shower rooms it is designed to sleep 12, and is sufficiently large for people not to feel on top of each other.

On the ground floor there is a fully equipped kitchen which will suit even the most demanding chef, a large living area of 70 m² divided into

- A living room fully furnished with tv, hifi, wifi internet connection, books, games and an open fireplace,
- A dining area with a solid ash dining table for 12.

On the ground floor which is fully accessible for a wheelchair user there is also a wheelchair friendly bedroom for two with an adjoining wet-room and lavatory.

On the first floor there are four bedrooms:

- One with a king size 160cm bed
- One with a double 140cm bed
- One with two single beds
- One with two single beds and one bunk bed for two.

The living area on the ground floor gives onto a 75m² patio facing south with a table and chairs for twelve, a barbecue and sun sails to protect from the midday heat. The patio is also fully accessible for a wheelchair user. The patio leads to the 1500m. garden and the 10.5 x 4.5 metre swimming pool with its wood-decked surround for sun bathing. Nearby, a raised lawn area beneath the acacia trees with table and chairs ideal for a drink watching the sun go down on the horizon. From the garden and the pool there is a magnificent view for miles around with the 7 towers of Belvès visible 5 miles away.

The property is just twenty minutes from Sarlat and five from the Dordogne river and is perfectly situated for visiting the many sites, chateaux, museums caves and bastide towns that make the “Black Perigord” such a fascinating and beautiful area.

The owners, Garry and Marie-Pierre, live nearby and are available, if wanted, to give advice on local activities, shopping facilities, visits to wineries, restaurants, local markets etc.

For visitors with babies a cot, high chair, playpen, bath can be supplied free of charge and for persons with reduced mobility a wheelchair, and a three wheel Rollator walking aid are available.
