Les Piafs is located next to the church in a tranquil village just 3 minutes from the nearest shop. It has open views of the beautiful Normandy countryside to the front, across a valley of fields, woodland and farmland. The private garden to the rear has a large lawn, plenty of trees, some surprising plants and even the remains of the original bake house. The English owners live next door and are more than happy to help in any way, if required.
The prices include all heating, lighting, logs, bedlinen and towels. You will receive a discount of £100 on your second week.
From Les Piafs you can enjoy easy access to all points of the Normandy compass; the roads are good but quiet. You can drive south and be at le Mont Saint Michel in just over an hour, or east to Bayeux in about 40 minutes. To the west there are unspoilt sandy beaches which stretch for the entire length of the peninsular , the nearest being about 20 minutes away; and to the north and east there are yet more.
In addition there are the D-Day landing beaches, art galleries, museums, horse riding centres, lake and sea fishing, local bike hire, bowling, velo rail and tree-top adventure trails, zoos, châteaux with parks and gardens, and even paintball. Birdwatchers will be in their element as we are situated on the edge of the Cotentin and Bessin Nature Reserve. Star gazers, artists and photographers will also be inspired. The practically empty roads make this area a paradise for cyclists - in fact Montcuit is on the route of the international Duo Normand annual time trial.
The beautiful cathedral town of Coutances is 15 minutes away , with its elegant shops, and public gardens which are floodlit on summers evenings.Besides the Thursday market, Coutances also houses an ice rink, cinema, swimming pool, theatre and countless bars and restaurants.
Twenty minutes away is the historic walled city of Saint Lô, home of the Haras - equestrian centre and national stud, and a very popular leisure pool as well as all the usual attractions.
There are many picturesque villages to discover and also the delights of many local markets. In the summer months, there are village events, and festivals, often with country dancing and live bands, animals and fireworks, every weekend and on public holidays.
