This beautifully restored stone-built Charentaise house is only a short drive from the popular seaside town of Royan. We propose weekly self-catering accommodation in a real home from home atmosphere. Meals can be taken in the dining room or outside on the terrace overlooking a large beautifully kept garden and immediately adjacent to a vineyard of the Pinneau de Charentes wine. Barbecue facilities are also available if you fancy chatting outside under the stars in the warm summer evenings and truly enjoying the complete tranquility that this location offers. Should you prefer dining out, some excellent restaurants can be found within a short drive.

The house can accommodate a maximum of six people in 2 double rooms and a twin room. Each room is spacious and warmly furnished in typical wood beamed rooms. There is a beautiful bathroom upstairs with a second shower room and WC downstairs. The lounge has a very old fireplace. There are easy parking facilities. We can cater for children and even pets. Bookings are taken throughout the year.

The property is very conveniently situated a 20 minute drive from the A10 autoroute and lies roughly halfway between the Roman town of Saintes with its numerous ancient sites, including one of France's most famous Roman gladiator amphitheatres and the lively coastal resort of Royan and its many family orientated beaches that offer more than enough activities for the children.

The coastal area also boasts some excellent seafood restaurants as well as some prized surfing areas in more secluded beach locations where magnificent pine treed national parks and sand dunes extend over kilometres to meet the Atlantic Ocean. Also within a short drive is the famous town of Cognac where tours around the world famous Hennessy or Martell distilleries are well worth a visit.

Slightly further afield but only a short distance over the Gironde estuary are some of the most famous and finest vineyards in the world such as St Emillion, St Estèphe, Médoc and many others. If that is not enough you also have the city of Bordeaux, and coastal towns of La Rochelle and Rochefort.
