Set in a hamlet near the village of Jumilhac le Grand, this spacious south-facing single storey villa stands in its own grounds of around a quarter of an acre, and offers views over the surrounding countryside of the Dordogne.
To the rear of the house is a private swimming pool with terrace which enjoys sun all day. If it's just too hot, retreat to the covered terrace and take in the views over the garden and beyond.

If you can tear yourself away from cooling off in the pool, you will be able to explore the lovely local countryside, towns and villages and to enjoy activities ranging from rambling, fishing and horse riding to tennis and golf.
If, unlikely as it may be, it's a rainy day, you can relax in front of a film (or your favourite BBC or ITV programme) on the 37" plasma screen TV with full surround sound.

Private and luxurious 8m by 4m swimming pool with exclusive use, fenced according to safety regulations. Paved terraced area surrounding the pool with sun-loungers and parasol. Large sandpit which can be supervised from the kitchen window. Covered terrace with modern very large glass dining table and eight chairs, barbecue. Large garden laid to grass with flower beds and fruit trees.
Distinguishing features of the landscape are green pastures with Limousin cows interspersed with woods, orchards, rivers and lakes. In the rivers and lakes one can fish for trout as well as pike, perch and other coarse species. The impressive 13th Century chateau of Jumilhac is part of the Richard the Lionheart Route together with other neighbouring chateaux Nexon, Coussac-Bonneval and Chalus. Nearby larger towns are Limoges, Brantome and Perigueux - all pretty with lots of historical interest.
The villa is about 40 minutes drive from Limoges, the home of fine porcelain. It is also about an hour's drive from prehistoric caves to the South. You can visiting many famous chateaux and other places of interest within a short distance. Driving southwards the landscape becomes more Mediterranean in its climate and vegetation and it is fun to drive along the many picturesque river valleys.
There are a number of lakes for swimming and boating with lifeguards and small beaches that are ideal for children within 10 to 20 kilometres.
Festivals, fetes and fireworks are held most weekends in one or more of the region's towns and villages throughout the summer.
Swimming, Walking, Tennis, Canoeing (especially on the river Dronne at Brantome), Horse riding, Cycling, Fishing, Mountain biking, Boating, Crazy Golf and Roller Park at Jumilhac Le Grand, Golf (Perigueux and Limoges). There is a National stud where you can visit and see the mares and foals and stallions at Pompadour.
To the West there is the Parc Naturel Regional Perigord - Limousin with its pathways for rambling or mountain biking and where, even when driving, you can come upon wildlife such as hares, wild boar, deer, otters, pine martens, buzzard and kite.
The nearest boulangerie, small supermarket, newsagents, pharmacie, bar and restaurant are in Jumilhac Le Grand (km away). There are large supermarkets at Saint Yrieix (8 km away), Chalus (15 km) and Nexon (24 km). Markets: weekly at Thiviers (8 km away) on Saturdays; every second and fourth Friday in the month at Saint Yrieix, Brantôme on Fridays, Chalus on Fridays, and in July and August there is a Sunday farmers market in Jumilhac.
