Ste Agnes, a secret gem and one of the famous 'perched villages' situated at 750 meters above the gracious town of Menton in the south eastern corner of France on the Cote d'Azur, 10 minutes from the Mediterranean Sea in the mountain range of les Alpes Maritimes.
Ste Agnes provides easy access to Menton (approx 10 mins) the last town in France, before entry into Italy (20 mins) and a cheaper alternative accommodation to visit Monaco (18km, approx 22 mins), Nice, (35km, approx 39 mins), Antibes (62km, approx 55 mins) and Cannes (71km, approx 1 hr).
Ste Agnes is reputed to be the highest coastal village in Europe so the views from here are spectacular, looking out over the Mediterranean, with a backdrop of sheer mountain sides, clothed with sweet scented yellow flowering broom, herbs and pines.
Ste Agnes is justly proud of its honour as one of the most beautiful villages in France. A title awarded every 5 years after fierce competition between 142 villages.

Stable Cottage: The living area,which is upstairs, has wonderful views over the mountains and the sea. New kitchen, recently decorated living area with comfortable sofa bed and 2 tub chairs; dining area with large farmhouse table. Simple and clean. A quiet large double bedroom, which looks out over the private terraces. It has a comfortable sofa, chest of drawers, cupboards and bookcase filled with plenty of books, maps and brochures.
Cool in Summer, and electric radiators throughout for winter warmth, so you can be snug and cosy after walking in the hills, or skiing in the mountains.
There is a private patio and two terraces 65 metres (growing fruit trees and herbs) with space to stretch out and relax,with magnificent all round views, of the mountains and the Mediterranean.
In the village you will find three restaurants, a cafe/creperie and a well stocked general grocery store for provisions.
In winter one can enjoy the light and warmth of the coast, or in an hour one can be skiing.
Public transport ,by bus 7 times per day is available to Menton and beyond.

Cycling, this is the area where the seven times American winner of the Tour de France used to train, and has become a mecca for those who love this sport. The views are wonderful and there is water available on the route.
