A Bertin is a beautiful farmhouse dating back to the 1800s set in the peaceful Gascony region of South West France. The ochre-coloured building with a terra cotta roof nestles comfortably in the hillside amongst the sunflower and maize fields.
Situated in some of the most peaceful countryside the Gascony region has to offer, A Bertin is just a mile from the 'Castlenau and Bastide' and the local village of Marciac is only 10 minutes away. There you will find some exceptional restaurants and amazing agricultural markets. Within easy reach there are several medieval towns and villages for you to explore and the roads are generally quiet, even during peak season.
The two bedroomed accommodation is light and spacious and entered through it's own beautiful oak doors and stone archway. Outside you will find a lovely south facing terrace, ideal for soaking up the summer sun, or having a nice evening barbecue.
If the sun is a bit much for you there's a private swimming pool in the garden, shared only with the owners. Guests are more than welcome to browse through the fields connected to the land, which are shared by Horses, Buzzards, Kites and Egrets.
The area is a mecca for bird watchers, with the red-backed shrike, wood lark and the golden oriole being just a few of the many species all nesting within 50 yards of the house.
Self catering guests will find a welcome pack including local wine and fresh bread as well as tea and coffee. We offer a free babysitting service and are usually on site to offer any other assistance we can, including a chauffeur and booking service to local restaurants.
The double and twin-bedded rooms are both en suite, dishwasher, washing machine and ironing facilities are available. There is English television, DVDs, and there is WiFi internet access throughout the apartment.
The apartment can also be booked on a bed and breakfast basis.
