The Lot et Garonne here in Southwest France hasn’t been discovered yet by many tourists, an advantage as its roads are surprisingly empty and its pretty villages remain truly authentic and full of charm. Lot et Garonne has something of interest for all and is situated just a few hours from both the Atlantic coast and northern Spain.
The Lot et Garonne is an area in South West France offering beautiful scenery, historic towns and villages, day and night markets, entertainment, excellent food and a selection of very reasonably priced wines. Our delightful country house nestles between Aiguillon (13th century medieval town) and Clairac. The bustling town of Agen and Villeneuve sur Lot are just thirty minutes away. We have gathered together over 100 tourist brochures from different areas for you to browse through at your leisure, enabling you to plan your week's activities or just chill out in your delightful surroundings.
Available throughout the long summer months, your gite accommodation offers comfort and privacy, allowing you to enjoy a most relaxing holiday. Rooms maintain an ambient temperature even on the hottest day. Views overlook our 19 acres and well stocked 2 acre fishing lake and small boat (for your private use only). These facilities are free to use, we have no hidden charges. It is peaceful and quiet, but not isolated.
This lovely cottage/gite of three large rooms is adjacent to our lovely country house. You have total privacy but should you want to chat we are always there to help you should you wish.
All accommodation is at ground level (no steps) and comprises a spacious lounge/ dining room with kitchen area (fully equipped), fridge, microwave, hob, a double bedroom and a fully fitted shower room. For summer, windows are fitted with mosquito nets. UK tv - BBC, ITV and radio, DVD. Also very comfortable seating in Italian leather with lumbar support. Two chairs and a three seater settee with head support.
The accommodation being on ground level is wheelchair friendly but we offer no special facilities.
Should you have need of another en-suite bedroom, this is available in the main house, discuss.
Important - your gite is fitted with smoke detector, fire blanket and fire extinguisher. Genuine free wireless internet access 24/7, no dead spots.
Your accommodation has a beautiful independent garden area with mature trees, own barbecue, sun loungers, permanent shaded gazebo with table and chairs. You are welcome to stroll around the grounds that include our private well-stocked 2 acre lake and try your skills at fishing. Pick your own fruit from the orchard, enjoy.
There is so much to see within easy reach of your holiday home Gone Fishin'. There are many marvellous historic sites like Nerac, Pujol, Laparade, Prayssas, Lacepede and Grateloup which are within easy reach or slightly further a great favourite is Bonaguil Castle. The bustling towns of Agen and Villeneuve-sur-Lot are only thirty minutes away. All these are within easy reach, accessed via quiet roads.Perhaps a day out in the beautiful City of Bordeaux. If desired leave the car behind and take the Train from Aiguillon.
The River Lot and the Garonne is available for fishing,(both within easy reach). The River Lot itself is massive, stretching through the Pyrenees. Last season not far from here a 22kg carp was caught. The fish usually caught in the river include pike, perch, catfish, chub, bream, black bass, barbel, roach and carp, for which it is very popular. Anglers say the best time for carp is April to June and September to mid October. Being fairly far south we can experience some very pleasant weather during the autumn. A holiday license is required if you fisf in the Rivers which is easily available from the local coffee shop, No licence is needed to fish in our own private lake at Gone Fishin as its NOT open to the public.

Bookings are normally from Saturday to Saturday, but we will consider midweek arrivals if you are planning to stay for more than a week as travel is so much cheaper midweek.
Access from the UK is easy, by car via the autoroute, by train to Marmande, Aiguillon or Agen (we are happy to collect you from Aiguillon station) or by air to the airports of Bordeaux, Bergerac ,Toulouse, Pau then just hire a car and follow a very easy route.
We are situated approx 15 minutes from exit 6 at Damazan on the A62.
Change-over day is usually Saturday, but as said we are often happy to accommodate mid week as travel is so much cheaper. Arrivals from 4pm, departures by 10am. A £100 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your accommodation for each week booked. Confirmation will be sent to you by e-mail or by post within 2 weeks of receiving your deposit. The balance in full must be received 8 weeks prior to arrival date and to include £50 returnable deposit against breakages and to persuade you to leave the gite in a good state. A detailed map to our house will be sent to you.

It is all taken care of to make your arrival calm and relaxing, and at no extra charge. An 8 minute drive takes you to a well provisioned supermarket, open on a Sunday morning.
